Everything You Need for a DDR Setup
I jokingly posted a video about how I get 10,000 steps by playing DDR and you guys LOVED it. So many of you asked what the setup was, so I decided to link everything you need to take your daily steps to the next level.
What is DDR?
DDR aka Dance Dance Revolution was a popular game in the late 90’s where players would step on arrows on a mat in time with music and the on-screen cues. My older sister would roll up to the arcade with her friends to play and I would get to tag along. It later was adapted to PS2 and then the Wii for at home play. It’s quite the aerobic dance workout and you can pick the level of difficulty depending on your skill level. I always thought it was a great way to trick gamers into working out or the perfect way to get exercise on a rainy day when you don’t want to leave the house. I have so many memories spending hours on this game with friends at sleepovers and hangouts and just had to bring this game back when I moved into a house. I refused to be the loud upstairs neighbor in my apartment complex. So what exactly do you need to play at home?
What you need to play DDR:
A Game System (You may have your old PS2 or Wii lying around)
The Matts
The Games
The PS2 games were elite in my opinion, so here’s a link to all my favorite games:
I personally never played it on the Wii, but here is the OG game
Adapter
If you have a newer TV without the AV cable hookup you may need an adapter
Alternate Options
This may seem like a lot to invest in for some of you so if it’s not in the budget for you right now, look for a machine at your local arcade and grab some friends to get a fun workout in together!
